It is laughable or rather would be if it werent such a serious subject ... last night we had people on Question Time, a discussion programme on the BBC, saying that the Police, in this case the Metropolitan Police (London) should be more representative of the population on the one hand and on the other moaning that they were corrupt... this from people with obvious ethnic minority backgrounds that come from countries were corruption of public officials is rife and seemingly accepted even the Politicians on the panel joining in (pots and kettles). eventually someone piped up to great acclaim by the audience that this corruption was the perception. Then on the subject of immigration one young man made a forceful contribution to the discussion was shouted down ... because the perception he had was unacceptable .... so the perception that the Police are corrupt is fine but the perception that immigration is causing major problems is not. My perception good your perception not. That I guess is diversity ...
