It is never easy to say goodbye. Over the years at Bastion Place the Staff have gotten together to donate funds to go towards a Stained Glass Angel in memory of a co-worker, who passed while still an employee. It was with heart felt sadness that we said goodbye to a dear friend, co-worker. An LPN, a wife a mother, a grandmother, Oma. This Angel is in memory of Darcy Breitkreuz. Darcy left this world on June 29th 2014 after her struggle with cancer. On October 31st, there was a short service to dedicate the window to Darcy, and to her memory. It was attended by her husband Ernie, her son Ross and a few other family members, friends and staff. One of her friends spoke at the service, and said ,Being an LPN is part Science and part Art, Darcy had them both, science and the Art. The stained glass piece was created by a stained glass artist in Vernon, Kathy Clinaz, she did such an amazing job. She captured Darcy so beautifully, and it is amazing to see this wonder piece from two different angles, it looks totally different. On Darcys plaque it reads, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. John 11:25-26 There is currently a quartet of Angels, I have also posted a picture of the trio of Angels, the forth Angel is around the corner, on the other side.
