It is not about the knife…………… My son and I have been - TopicsExpress

It is not about the knife…………… My son and I have been working on building these kick ass Bowie knives for months, and we are getting close to done.Today was another day of sanding, grinding, polishing and so much more.I can feel each of our individual spirits being put into our knives as we work so hard. Little does my son know how many times I look over and see him with eyes of love and so proud of the man he is becoming. On the way home I had time to reflect on really what this experience has been for me so far.PRICELESS! The knife is stamped 2014, like a photo that stamps these memories in time. Memories to never be lost. The time I get to spend with my son Michael is amazing. From the time we leave to the time we get back. He listens to my stories that never end, filled with whatever wisdom I try to pass on and enjoy his questions in return. Of course there is a chance he might see this post, but may never really understand how great it feels till some day he has a son or daughter. I am sure anyone with kids reading this can understand, those moments of such love. My dad shared these wise words with me many years ago. He was so right, you just dont know how it feels until you are there. I am the luckiest human on the planet! As we polished our blades, each of our personal character was also being polished. The work, the hard work makes us understand and be in contact with our core human spirit of focus and getting things done. As we were grinding away the imperfections not needed on the blade and removing them it made me think how we can also just remove these thoughts that no longer serve us in the same manor. Then we worked on putting all the peaces together. What a day and I keep going to see my knife, not for what we have created- but for all the emotion s the knife holds for me. This knife stands for - Special time with my son Character and growth Polishing the spirit and faith Discipline to keep going Focus to do the very best I can. Support of my son in his growth as becoming a knife maker and amazing man Time is so short, like a friend of mine Garrett say- INVEST. There is plenty of time to do the things that can wait another day. Create life long experiences, as many as you can. Mike Agugliaro PS- The best is still to come, TRAINING with them :)
