It is not surprising that an obvious faction of Americans, the so called neo-conservatives, are foaming at the mouth at the developments in the Ukraine. Then there is another faction of Americans, I would like to call them the Obama apologists, who find themselves under duress over the fact that disagreeing with the president would cause cognitive dissonance. With both groups I would like to play a very simple game. The game is called Musical Chairs. I think we remember this game from when we were children, a game to open our minds to the points and perceptions of others. In this case, I would like to invite both parties to pretend for a moment that we, the U.S. are Russia and ask ourselves what would we do if a violent coup detat right at our door steps overthrows a democratically elected government and replaces it with hard core ultra nationalists and outright fascists. Now, it so happens that the country in question used to be a part of us for over 250 years and therefore is connected to us in language, culture, ethnicity and even on a DNA level. Furthermore, one of our presidents gave it away as a present for political reasons, but made sure this country maintains an autonomous status. This happened only 60 years ago. Moreover, it was guaranteed to us that at least until 2048 we would be able to lease one of our most important naval bases and other critical military infrastructure, including the stationing of up to 25,000 military personnel in that country. A violent coup detat sponsored and supported by another world power suddenly jeopardizes all that.... our naval bases and military installations, and most importantly the welfare of almost two million of our people. Oh, we also know that this world power follows policy doctrines that were expressed in a book called The Grand Chessboard and in a White Paper called Rebuilding Americas Defenses. Both papers clearly illustrate to long term objectives for full spectrum global domination. Now, ask yourself these simple questions. What would you do, if you were in a position to do something about this situation? Or, what would you expect your president to do if confronted with such a challenge? Hint... Are you familiar with the Monroe Doctrine of 1834? Looking it up on Wikipedia via Google provides a little background on what America would do in that situation.
