"It is not the brains that matters most, but that which guides them: character, the heart, generous qualities, and progressive ideas." Fyodor Dostoyevsky - Russian Novelist, philosopher (1821- 1881) What good is being smart if there is no moral compass in your life? If there is nothing that directs your thoughts, words, and actions, then perhaps being a genius is futile. So where do we look? Inherent in each of us is a KNOWING that there is a creator responsible for the heavenly skies, earth, oceans and all that inhabits it. God has provided our compass. Therefore, of prime importance is love, peace, patience, faithfulness, self-control, goodness, kindness, gentleness and joy. Where these qualities exist will reside generosity, heart and character. Perhaps along with these qualities being used as guideposts or markers, we can magnify the Creator by applying the intellect that we have been given toward the spirit of innovation and creativity in our work and play life. The paramount key is our choosing (be willing) to seek Him and grow ones of faith. Seeking a relationship with the Creator is like giving the steering wheel of your life over to God who longs to accompany you through life. So consider how and why you depend upon your brains. It is wise to depend on your connection with your Creator who gives so much more.
