It is obvious to me that Cornel West has continued to try to have a dialogue about the condition of the African American in todays civil society but his words have fallen on deaf ears when it comes to Obama. This is a very insightful article and it is a subject that we should bring to the forefront in our discussions, especially with our politicians. It is hard any more to watch Obama and see how his entire presidency has been wasted. I feel like we never changed presidents and now he is coming to the end of his term and still no dialogue about the poor and black minorities has taken place. The following is a quote from the article below: What does it profit a people for a symbolic figure to gain presidential power if we turn our backs from the suffering of poor and working people, and thereby lose our souls? The Black prophetic tradition has tried to redeem the soul of our fragile democratic experiment. Is it redeemable?
