It is offensive to me, that often when I make a phone call to a service provider such as cable, gas, ipalco or government offices, I must push any number of buttons before I am allowed to talk to a human. Often, it is answered by people who speak English as a second language and sometimes those accents are so thick, that I end up telling Joe or Karen never mind. The most frustrating thing however is that the company on the other end of the line has the audacity to ask me to push 1 for English!!!! This is my country, although we may not have an official language it has traditionally been the English language. I dont mind if they want to offer any other language in their button pushing hell but in my country where we generously invited your tired and poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free; do not insult me by asking me to push one for English in my homeland.
