It is pretty bad when you spend the majority of your day doing FBI - TopicsExpress

It is pretty bad when you spend the majority of your day doing FBI and CIA work looking up HCPCS medical codes and FSA information to PROVE to your MEDCOM FSA provider that Ostomy supplies ARE a medical necessity for someone with an ostomy, and they are NOT considered over the counter items and are NOT classified as bandages!!! How dare the lady from Medcom tell me these things, and how dare she make me do HER work to research all the information she should have already known if she was qualified for her job. I still cannot believe she tried to tell me and our HR Manager that ostomy pouches, barriers, seals, adhesive remover wipes and deodorizer drops were not considered a medical necessity, and these items could all be picked up in a local pharmacy over the counter....and that pouches, barriers and seals were considered to be classified as bandages. Now for one...why would my insurance be approving the transactions all this time & paying their portion? Two, why has Medcom approved these tranactions all this time after I send them a copy of my Edgepark receipts, and Three why would my ostomy supplier be selling me ostomy supplies without written verification from a licensed Colorectal Surgeon that I need these things for my medical condition? Talk about one HOT, pissed off lady today! Now I wish I could bill MEDCOM back for my time and research, plus a little mental anguish they caused me today! I am going to be contacting the main person at Medcom to let them know what I was put through today!!!!!!!!!!!! Have mentioned I have a HORRIBLE pounding headache now despite the JOY of proving the MEDCOM rep WRONG!
