It is really something to see all the picketing and protesting by a certain church group in my former home state and then the counter support by the public. Im glad that at the first event, they were outnumbered and left however, I keep remembering the words and spirit of Mother Theresa, I was once asked why I dont participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, Ill be there. In all of this, I understand standing up for what you believe and the importance of that. On the flipside of this however, I dont know that many people understand that what you resist, persists and in my understanding of things, both sides are fueling each other and each are keeping the other alive. The protesters are creating more to protest and supporters (anti-protesters) are showing the people that they want to stop that their efforts are successful. Its like when we were young and made fun of, the only reason the bully kept on was because his words or actions invoked a response. When there was no response, most of the time the bullying ended. You see, the best thing that we can do to end this is to love them, love them in their fear and misunderstanding because that is the most difficult thing that we can do. It is the only action that will help to heal all the fear and pain that people live in. That we live in.
