It is snowing right now, but this Saturday is a great day to get out in the garden according to the forecast. We still have work to do to clean up the garden and get it ready to plant. I will be posting the sign up form soon. But be prepared to put down a $25 refundable deposit for each plot you would like. We discussed and decided on this plan at the garden meeting as a way to give an incentive for gardeners to keep their plots clean this year. The deposit will be refunded November 15 if the plot has been kept under control all season according to the plot agreement. If at any time, a plot is growing weeds and grass out of control or growing over the borders and covering the pathways, the plot owner will have a warning, and two weeks to request help if needed or to clean it up themselves, or they will forfeit the plot and the $25 deposit. The money then can be used to pay someone else to clean up the plot. I am sure we have gardeners that would be willing to help those that get sick or are out of town or have an emergency situation, as long as we know that help is needed. It is when we have the plot abandoned for weeks or months that it becomes a huge deal to clean it out. Comments? Questions?
