It is so hot today and it is going to be even hotter tomorrow. It is making me think of how we got by when I was a kid without any air conditioning. It was tough but we did it with fans and open windows and sleeping porches. I can remember times when I would wet wash rags and sheets to cool off at night. To me that was the hardest part, trying to sleep when it was just about too hot to breathe. We had no air in school either and would have to beg the teachers to open the windows sometimes...they thought it too much of a distraction to have them open. Shoot we didnt want a distraction all we wanted was a breeze. A local school was on the news last night saying they might have to send the children home because the air was on the fritz. Hubby and I both laughed and said how times had changed from the days when we were in school. I seemed to me when I was a kid the grownups just didnt get as hot as us kids, but I can remember my great-grandmother fanning herself and dabbing her face with her handkerchief while sending me to the kitchen to fetch her another glass of iced tea. Im sorry my story is a little short but Im just too darn hot to think right now even in the air....we cant run it too cool or we wont be able to pay the bill......LOL
