It is time to realize that the Supreme Court determined that there was no basis in the US Constitution to justify or support the 16th amendment and an income tax. They are both unconstitutional. The Supreme Court also stated that, nevertheless, the 16th amendment became the law of the land. It has stated many time that the Supreme Court can not change the law of the land. Only Congress, at the insistence of the people, can change the law of the land. The Court lamented on the fact that Congress abused its powers and audacity to blatantly go around two great barriers in the constitution that were intended to prevented a direct tax on income. They also stated that the only justification for the 16th amendment in the constitution is the 16th amendment itself. When 36 states ratified the 16th amendment, that amendment became the law of the land and the structure of our society changed immediately and drastically. From that point on, you had to report to the government every penny you earned, legal, illegal, gambling, it did not matter. Why? Because what you earned no longer belonged to you. It is not your money. The government gained the right to tell you how much of their money that you earn for them that you can keep, how you must spend their money that they allow you to keep, and if you do not spend it in the way directed, they can take more of it back! Ergo - Obamacare. The Libertarians battle cry should be rescind the 16th Amendment. Restore the structure to our society that the U.S. Constitution was designed to create and preserve. -A Libertarian
