It is truly amazing to me how life works. I am so humbled by this process of being human, and so grateful for the opportunity to watch this process unfold in myself and others. All of the various difficulties and pain that we experience that are so powerful and heart-wrenching are actually gifts in disguise if we can only allow ourselves, our hearts, to open and become vulnerable in the face of great pain. Transformations Happen! The light that is inside each one of us has a chance to shine its brightest amidst our most challenging moments, if only we choose to Surrender ourselves to the Unfolding, and Trust in the Great Mystery to carry us. I have heard, and read, that pain is the touchstone of all spiritual growth. I find this to be true over and over again so long as it is accompanied by an open and malleable heart. I believe that it is our pain that helps us to feel, whether we like it or not, in a way that we oftentimes are unwilling to, and prys open our hearts that are so often closed just as a conditioned default setting. At times like these, if we choose not to numb, medicate, stuff, or in some way avoid fully experiencing our pain, and instead choose to meet it with kindness and compassion for ourselves and others, we have the Wonder-Full opportunity to watch ourselves open to the possibility of Real Change, Growth, Transformation! I am getting to watch this process unfolding in myself right now, and more importantly, I am getting to watch this process as it is occurring in someone I care very much about. May we always remain open-hearted, vulnerable, malleable, teachable, kind, caring, and compassionate with ourselves and with each other, and may the Great Mystery work its magic in all our hearts. Because its not easy being a human living this life.
