It is very clear that I opened a can of worms when I asked women - TopicsExpress

It is very clear that I opened a can of worms when I asked women this morning to respect men, no matter what! I know, its a tall order because many men these days are guilty of committing a lot of social ills. Many men have done women wrong and very wrong. However bantana basekhaya, we still have to function as a society and we need the family unit. Talking about these things is at least halfway to progress. I think mina, lets keep talking and heal those wounds. We cannot have a country made up of broken men and women. I know, kubuhlungu. I got hurt just reading the comments. We will heal and we will overcome. We HAVE to HEAL! and we HAVE to SOLDIER forward no matter. South Africa is a beautiful country and for some of us its all we have. Let us find a way to rebuild the nuclear family......I will cast the first stone. Early next year, I want us to have a very sensitive, tear jerking session...where we gather and talk and share and cry and laugh and share and open up. I dont like it when so many women have so much anger towards men but I understand....our men are NOT innocent. They cant just change without us prodding them in the right direction. Let US be the change we want to see as Mahatma Gandhi had said. Our men will change but lets not fix them. Lets focus on being better women, better mothers, better neighbours, better BFFs, better employers, better employees, better everything....Like I said in the end they are bound to follow suite. What I want to say to you, is that, you are a strong woman. And how do I know that? Well, you have had to overcome all these obstacles that were put in your way. And....youre still standing, right? You didnt know that you were strong but you survived. Lets just stand together and speak with one voice. Im a survivor! Destinys Child put it best and they sang it well. Sing that song on full blast on top of your voice. You own your life and no-one will make you feel inferior without your permission. Ooooh! Ive said too much.....early next year, lets meet and share. We have all been through rough times and some of them, perpetuated by men. But we are WOMEN, we will remain standing and functional because we are strong like that. #Bangasididi #Bangasididi #Ngiyala #WeAreStrongLikeThat #YouAreASurvivor
