It is very easy to blame the government for all our troubles. It - TopicsExpress

It is very easy to blame the government for all our troubles. It is easy to go onto the streets and demonstrate, as if that will resolve our problems. The problem of Ghana is the Ghanaian. The Ghanaian for the past 30yrs has not worked. The Ghanaian has stopped being productive for many years. The Ghanaian has developed a taste for imported stuff like perfumed rice, liver, intestines and stomach of ruminants (yem adie), secondhand clothing e.t.c. The Ghanaian imports all these things into the country. I was shocked to hear that Yem Adie is the seventh largest import into Ghana.Over 90% of secondhand clothing exported from the United Kingdom goes to Ghana (Source BBC). In fact it seems we are the only country importing secondhand clothing. Rice before the 80s was not a staple food in this country, so why are we spending $600M to import rice into Ghana, as if we dont have what it takes to produce our own rice, if it is the case that we must consume rice by all means. The Ghanaian instead of working has become a rent seeker busily looking for the next deal to make pips. The Great Ghanaian Entrepreneur which courtesy demands us to whistle to call him is a trader, busily importing and selling. Sorry I am tired, I am not a writer so let me end here but I Hate What The Ghanaian Has Become and as Dr Bawumia said “the cedi will expose you” The cedi has not only exposed the government, it has exposed the Ghanaian.
