It is very unfortunate that the FRSC now has the effrotery to blame the reckless convoy of Gov, Idris Wada of Kogi state for the death of Prof. Festus Iyayi. Now, let us ask ourselves; how many Governors and their convoys has the FRSC arrested and prosecuted for reckless driving? Even some first class Obas are not left out in this ugly matter! How many of them has the FRSC arrested and prosecuted? Are they above the laws? The only thing they (FRSC) do on our highways is to stand there with serious looks on their faces and start chasing drivers without seat belts who will offer them bribe of a thousand Naira! That is the only thing the FRSC is now known for! Even many illiterate private and commercial drivers never knew that the FRSC has many other official duties to do on our roads other than chasing drivers without seat belts! The corrupt and indolent manners in which the FRSC carry out their official duties on the highways is one of the many factors responsible for accidents on our roads! The organisation needs complete overhauling. Fearless and incorruptible educated young men needs to be injected into the system; unlike the corrupt, dirty and hungry ones we have on our roads now!
