It is with a heavy heart and in a state of total shock I sit here this evening. This morning we had a phone call to say that my dear darling Grandad Charlie had passed away suddenly aged 93. No ill health, in fact yesterday he was sat out in the sunshine laughing and joking with no signs of anything whatsoever, happy as anything. Last weekend he spent at a Glenn Miller tribute weekend (taking his quiz team to triumph of course) and his life really was one long holiday. Grandads zest for life will remain an inspiration to us all, and anyone who was lucky enough to have him in their life will know he was the life and soul of the party. One of my greatest memories will remain the night of his 90th birthday when away on a cruise, my mother called me in the early hours of the morning to say she couldnt get him out of the nightclub and didnt know what to do... Only last month he won a talent competition singing his most favourite songs. He sang one to me last time I visited and made me cry, it was so beautiful. Honestly, having had dear Grampy in my life for the last 36 years, I thought hed live forever but I guess in my heart he will. Night night Grampy, Ill love you always. Please give Nanny a big cuddle for me when you see her. X
