It is with a heavy heart that I read an article posted by a certain website that likes to call itself a “news website” last night. It was an article that slandered the good name of my good friend and fellow YouTuber, Nawaf [The Not So Extraordinary Tales of Life]. I find this whole affair to be disgusting and disappointing. I am disgusted that an individual had to stoop so low as to look for a months[?] old video and misrepresent it to slander a very empowering, inspirational, good-natured, friendly and kind youth who strove time and time again to make this country a better place, both through volunteer work for an NGO and as a private citizen. It is shameful… which leads me to the ‘disappointment’ part of this equation. I am someone who very much respects the power of the Fourth Estate in a country. I think that news media or journalism plays a crucial role in informing the public and casting the spotlight on the dark corners of a state that need a good airing out, along with giving voice to the oppressed and misrepresented. So to see this sort of behavior from individuals who identify as journalists disappoints me to no end. Do you realize that you’re losing credibility and tarnishing the name of journalism in your own community? How could you care so little about the integrity of the field you represent?! I can’t even fathom what motivated you to do such a thing but I know it wasn’t anything benign. The Movie Em Show will stand with Nawaf because what Nawaf stands for is ethical and compassionate. If any of you took the time to actually watch his video, you’d easily see that. He is an inspiration, both on camera and off. This will not break him but only make him stronger. Fight this, Nawaf. Fight this and win! The video in question: https://youtube/watch?v=VeCupqM-toY
