It is with a very heavy heart that I say I will be retiring very soon due to health problems. My lungs are steadily getting worse and I am barely able to function at this point. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful people I have worked with and for during my career in conservation while with the Dugdemona Soil and Water Conservation District. I have enjoyed working with fellow conservationist and serving the people of this District, this area, this great state and across the South Central Region and the Nation. This has been to most wonderful work experience and I am very fortunate to say that I have truly loved my job for 13 years. Although, this has been a hard decision for me and I know in my heart it is the right one. I just want each of you to know how much is has meant to be surrounded by so many wonderful and knowledgeable people during my career in conservation. My heartfelt thanks to each of you; you have made my life richer, my job easier and for sharing your wealth of knowledge with me. My first priority is to get well so I will be taking things one day at a time. At this point I do not know what the future will hold for me and it will be scary for a while but I know GOD has a plan. He knows every decision that has to be made, every bill that has to be paid, and every obstacle I need to overcome. I have worked at a job where taxes have been held out of my pay check for 32 years now so this will be a challenge for me. Thank GOD I have literally years worth of work to do around the house and never-ending chores in the barn and garden. Hopefully that will keep me sane.
