It is with great sadness that we are mourning the passing of our faithful and delightful Hanna Nicole Fleming Padron. Hanna was born shortly before Katrina arrived in New Orleans, 2005. Her first parents were unable to take care of her, and she lived with several families. Her last foster family wanted the best for her, and placed began seeking a loving family. Frank & I met Hanna, and she kissed me on the cheek, and then went and sat on the couch to wait for us to take her home. It was love, and she got into the Toyota Highlander to travel back to her new home. There were trials in the beginning, she wasn’t quite sure if she wanted to stay, or what she wanted to do, and took off galloping down Causeway Boulevard, with our neighbor Kevin Lord chasing on foot and Frank in the Highlander driving to try and get her to come back. What a sight! After they returned with her, she settled in very nicely, and was a good friend to King, the white German Shepherd. A few years later, King went to chase and play in Puppy Heaven, and Hanna didn’t quite comprehend. She knew he was somewhere in the back yard, and tried to dig him up. I took her in, and explained in a loving way that King was up in heaven. After some time, we were to become proud parents of Daisy to be a companion for Hanna. Her owner in Baton Rouge wanted a loving family, and Daisy came to live in Metairie with Hanna. Oh what a pair. You would always see the 2 together. Daisy would play tug of war with Hanna with anything knit she could find, shorts, underwear – didn’t matter. After Frank passed away, Hanna and Daisy once again, moved to live with Lizzie, Nacho, Dena and Amore Padron in Pennsylvania. I received word this morning that Hanna had been ill, and had passed away in her sleep. She will be creamated and placed to rest at the Padron home. We will remember her always.
