It is with great sadness that we relay that The Mississippi National Guard Friday announced the death of the states assistant adjutant general, Maj. Gen. Catherine Lutz, who had been battling cancer. Lutz was also commander of the Mississippi Air National Guard. She directed Air National Guard operations and established policy to ensure mission readiness. On 1 Dec 2008, she served as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Chief Nurse of the Air Force at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, District of Columbia until General Lutz was appointed to her current position in December 2011.
