It is with great sadness that we report this. Paul Revere, organist and founder of The Raiders, passed away October 4th, 2014 at his home in Idaho at the age of 76. In August 2013, Paul shared the news of his battle with brain cancer. In July 2014, he decided to step away from the stage and changed the name of the band to Paul Revere’s Raiders, to reflect honestly that he was not there as part of the band. Thanks to his colorful clothing and infectious stage persona, Mr. Revere earned a reputation as the madman of rock n roll. The band said, “By your example, both professional and personal, youve left a blueprint of how to live a life full of love, laughter and happiness. The world will be a lot less fun, a lot less kind and gentle without Paul Revere in it. Your larger-than-life absence will leave a void in our hearts and our lives. Believe it or not, Paul Revere was actually his real name. Before going into the music business, Mr. Revere owned restaurants in his native Idaho and became friendly with a young singer named Mark Lindsay who worked between gigs at a bakery that supplied Paul with his hamburger buns.
