It is with my great pleasure to remind you about the SHS BAND CAMP which will be held next week at SHS for 9th-12th grades. I anticipate all band members attending as the camp will provide all of us the additional time needed to prepare for the exciting role we play as the Band for SHS. Camp will focus on basic marching technique, proper tone development, leadership, performing as a group and pep band music, cheers and chants. In addition to these areas, it will also serve as the auditioning process for our drumline. Audition materials will be handed out at our first camp block and auditions will be held on Thursday. If you are a percussionist and want to have a chance to be a member of the premier drumline, you must attend all sessions of this camp. The official drumline will be set on Thursday. Some of our camp time will be held outside for the woodwinds and brass and all of camp will be outside for percussionists, so please be prepared for the weather. All percussion music will be handed out at camp. Future communications will utilize band website, phone tree and online newsletters to better serve our program. Thank you in advance for your time and dedication towards making our band one of the best in the State. See you next Tuesday. Go Foxes!
