It is with very mixed emotions that I have decided not to return to McAuley next fall. My twelve years at McAuley have been productive and memorable. From the first day that Sister Edward Mary hired me in 2002, a myriad of experiences have enriched my life tremendously and it has afforded me opportunities to use so much knowledge and talent. Memories with all my dear students and colleagues will stay with me forever. Teaching at McAuley HS has been the most amazing job I have ever had in my life! McAuley has been with me through so much of life: teaching Spanish, Art (and my one class of French), having my daughter attend CMHS, the experiences of being on the Technology Committee that initially brought in laptops, the academic exchange with the Chilean school, Ethical Leadership, my divorce (through which McAuley was my solid foothold), my new single life adjustments, the birth of my beautiful granddaughter, working with amazing young ladies year after year, having the privilege of taking students abroad to foreign countries (France, Spain, Italy, Peru, Ecuador), working with students who discover amazing inner strengths, talents and abilities, watching these students move on through their lives from afar, capturing McAuley memories in Senior DVDs and the Mercian Yearbook, and sharing with so many of you the growths and experiences of your lives. McAuley has been my second family. I will always remain a part of the McAuley community and will support the school and activities whenever possible The decision to take a leap into other life experiences has been coming for a while now and for those that know me, you will not be totally surprised. Part of my heart is breaking as I plan to walk away, but another part of me is excited for new possibilities on the horizon! Destination? Who knows .. the World! Activities? Travel, creating my own art, ... and loving up on my beautiful Eliana. Thank you all for your friendship and all the wonderful memories we have had together. One could easily write a book.... I will be posting some great memory photos here - and there are still many memories to be made these next few months. BLESSINGS!
