It isnt always pretty, or glamorous, or how we pictured parenting to be. Were tired, and frazzled, and sometimes hide from our kids. Our boobs hurt, our bladders are out of wack, and our hair is turning grey. We color, we build, we play hours of games of UNO. We hug, we kiss, we comfort even when we dont know how to make things better. We get ferociously protective of our cubs and didnt know we had it in us to feel that way. We yell, we plead, we beg, we cry. We stress, we wonder, we hope, we pray. We laugh, we teach, we create. We do the very best we can and some days were better than yesterday. Somedays we promise well be better tomorrow. Some days we just survive. We kiss our kids goodnight and thank our lucky stars that we got this life. We look at our sleeping kids, our innocent babies, our hormonal teenagers, our smelly mischievous little boys and our independent stubborn little girls and just say a little prayer of thanks, a wish of strength, and hope that we are doing it right.
