It just hit us hard today that we lost Michael. I was numb the last 24 hours. I told Josephina this morning about losing him and we broke down. She loved Uncle Michael so much. She grew up with him around a lot and she remembers how many times they laughed together and at each other. I am so glad he had family around him and especially at the end. Michael loved his family -- a lot! He always saw the good in people and was amazed at the beauty of things. He was proud of everyone and he bragged about his family a lot, especially his nieces and nephews, and how amazing they all are; he was genuinely impressed and pleased with all of us, not giving himself any credit. I think Michael did eventually know that he was loved and he felt that. At times, I always thought about how he deserved a better life
