It may be long but worth reading to the end: My observations and interpretation of Events taking place now in the Middle East : The report by the 911 commission pointed out that : grievances and unsolved regional issues by Young Muslims in the Middle East are a recruitment tool for Al-Quaeda. Some of those grievances included: -The Unconditional support for Israel in subjugating Palestinians and the continued occupation of Palestinian Territories . - The unlimited Support for Dictators in the Middle East with terrible Human rights records . - The support for financial corruption and embezzlement of oil revenue by the Gulf States Monarchs A game changer was needed to create new realities in Middle East . The Western World Strategy in confronting/ mitigating the threat of another terrorist attack on the homeland included the following : 1- transfer the battle field against its foes to the Middle East : Examples are : -Iraq invasion and post invasion instability - Libyas ouster of Quadafi with the subsequent instability and chaos to date - Yemen civil war - Syria s civil war and ascendancy of ISIS ( the above listed countries ,which were ruled by ruthless dictators and could never have such instability , are now fertile ground for recruitment of Fighters with endless swath of battlefields instead of battling Terrorist attacks in the homeland ) 2- Change the identity of the enemy : the Young Muslim Generation before 911 blamed the West for its support of those Regimes and Dictators , thus preventing any political change and suffocating hope for a better future ... The Jihadis could not confront the dictators using violence , the peaceful activists could not seek change in the Middle East due to ruthless practices of the security services... Game changer : Arab spring with the subsequent events of chaos , tensions and conflicts Results were : amputated dreams / stillbirths and nightmares due to the Arab spring ( chapter one of manipulated and hijacked change in the region).... The Enemy now is : - the Dictators ( Assad and Maliki .. Which they deserve) - SiSi of Egypt .. - Rival different ethnic and religious factions - New arrival of foreign fighters : ISIS - Hezbullah Militias in Syria - Iranian Revolutionary guards with slow depletion of US does , financially and militarily . Until the last incursion in Gaza , Israel and the West were in last place as foes of the Arab world . 3- Permanent Divisions /redrawing maps and borders -New creations in the region : instability where opposing factions commit atrocities ,will lead to continued fighting for years / involving generations to come seeking revenge , unable to coexist , carving out areas for minorities , exhausting local resources while destroying cities and countries ... - Contained instability by the West leading from behind as Obama said ..... until certain threats , events ( instability that is considered to threaten national security ) would require some attention ( ISIS) . Otherwise allow opposing factions to fight each others and destroy their countries ... Divide those societies to further weaken that region : division based on religious ( Sunni vs Shiites) .. Ethnic ( Arabs vs Persians vs Kurds) Tribal ( Libya ) - Islamic ( Wahhabi vs Muslim Brotherhood) ... 4- The purge : Allow those individuals with Jihadi ideas , from the European countries and the US , as well as jihadis from Arab and Gulf states to travel into conflict areas ( currently Syria) to fight and die there ( US : MCarther MCcain who recently died in Syria , not even an Arab )... It will be a purge of those trouble makers ( if the west wanted to stop / arrest them , they could have done so at border crossings in Turkey). Not sure what the coming days / months/ years will bring to that region but ominous signs are pointing towards : more bloodshed , permanent destruction of the fabric of societies .. Slandering moderate Muslims with aspersion by giving a stage for a delusional group to be linked with Islam ( ISIS) May God have mercy upon us , stop the bloodshed and ease the pain of those who are displaced , orphaned , widowed , imprisoned .
