It may be something of an overexpressed request, but as we all gather this holiday season with family and friends, dont forget that there are many more of our family members and friends that cant be with us for our celebrations. From those closest to us that have been lost due to the ravages of time and unfortunate circumstance to those that find themselves far from home, the memory of them should remain fresh in our minds as they are among those that have made us what we are. Thirty seven years ago, I was but one of many that found themselves away from home and hearth for the first time in our lives, spending the first of what would be several holiday seasons in service to our country. There are so many of our own sitting in remote and uncomfortable places, doing the jobs necessary to ensure that we are able to enjoy our celebrations, and we owe them at least a prominent place in our minds and hearts. God bless you all, and especially our absent heroes, lost and living, this Christmas..... and save a cookie for me.... ;)
