It may have rained yesterday, but Corpus Christi remains under a water restriction. Today on First Edition our South Texas Gardener, Trent Hoffman, teaches us a good Cycle-Soak Watering Method for Automatic Sprinkler Systems. Here are some of his suggestions: *Spray Head Stations- use for 5 to 8 minutes *Rotor Head Stations- use for 10 to 15 minutes *Have 3 Start Times- Finish Last Cycle by 7-8 a.m. *No watering For 7 Days *Repeat Process Each Time You Water To check if 3 cycles are sufficient enough for your yard, try pushing a screwdriver into the soil, if you can push it 6 without too much effor, you have applied enough water. If only penetrates 2-3before hitting dry soil, you will need to add additional start times.
