It may just be me, but does anyone else feel like the only games that matter anymore in a bowling season are the 9 you bowl at nationals? I feel like the Eagle is the last great trophy in our sport now that the us open is on hiatus. I seriously considered not bowling in a league this year for the first time in 27 years (Im only 30 mind you). I couldnt care less if I shoot 300/800 this season. Hell, the only reason Im bowling is because its at my center and a team needed a 4th. Thats all bowling has become to me now, a sport that I once loved has now been relegated to my participation being based on need. I feel like bowling has been more about the social aspect for me lately than the sport aspect. Maybe its time to put the shoes up for a while, maybe not... I enjoy seeing my friends at bowling, but I feel we could have a similar experience shooting pool, or just drinking on the deck if my house. I guess what Im trying to say is, I dont NEED bowling anymore. With that said, Ill make sure to be ready for El Paso in May/June/whenever. Until then, pass me a high life and Ill find a way to make my 3 games a week enjoyable. #thestruggle #imissrealbowling
