It may seem everyone around you cant stop buzzing about their all night/day shopping trips, all the gifts theyve purchased, their great deal on a new vehicle, fun care free night out with friends, the beautiful decor their home is decked in and just any other hype that you just listen to with a closed mouth. You do such a great job at politely listening when your brain and your emotions are just about to explode!! Its hard to be in this situation when you know you yourself are tapped out just keeping the power on at home, gas in your hoopty, food for your kids, stress held together, and you are praying just to make another pay day. Know that times like these make the devil grinn. Hes so ready to tell you that God doesnt love you as much or that Hes punishing you. I encourage you to pray for strength to see the light during these dark times. Pray for courage to live a humble life of gratitude for all that you have. Know that He cherrishes you for the unique person you are in the unique situation that Hes placed you in. (Jeremiah 29:11) Worldly possessions or social status will never make it through Heavens gates. (Matthew 6:19-21) However it might be that youre reading this thinking I enjoyed my well anticipated shopping trips and I worked hard for and deserve everything I have. Yes, that can be a positive good feeling. I am not condemning you for enjoying it, I rejoice with you for your blessings. But please remember that Christs mission for us was to Love others. Dont allow your excitement to blind you of those around you that need to hear, see and feel Love right now. (1 Corinthians 13:4) Be mindful of their situation. Are you sharing joy or possibly sparking fires of jealousy? Pray about ways to share your season of true joy with them. (Psalms 71:23) Friends, I pray for you all to make wise Christ-like decisions this season wherever you are in life - with Him as your mentor and guide. Christmas is all about celebrating a precious one of a kind free gift sent for you. Share the excitement of this gift often! (John 3:16)
