It must have been a proud day in the Senate yesterday when a group of partisans decided to do away with 225 years of protocol and voted to destroy the rules that Thomas Jefferson (arguably the smartest man this country has ever seen) so painstakingly wrote. I would urge everyone to go back just seven years and read the words that then Senator Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Joe Biden, Barbara Boxer and many others had to say about the nuclear option that was being discussed. Oddly, ALL of them were very adamantly against it. Sen Obama stated ”If the right of free and open debate is taken away from the minority party and the millions of Americans who ask us to be their voice, I fear the partisan atmosphere in Washington will be poisoned to the point where no one will be able to agree on anything,” ”That does not serve anybody’s best interest, and it certainly is not what the patriots who founded this democracy had in mind. We owe the people who sent us here more than that. We owe them much more.” Sen Joe Biden, ”This nuclear option is ultimately an example of the arrogance of power. It is a fundamental power grab by the majority party.” Sen. Dianne Feinstein: “The nuclear option, if successful, will turn the Senate into a body that could have its rules broken at any time by a majority of Senators unhappy with any position taken by the minority. It begins with judicial nominations. Next, will be executive appointments. And then, legislation.” Sen. Max Baucus [an ObamaCare architect]: “This is the one way democracy ends – not with a bomb, but with a gavel.” Everyone of them are nothing but Hypocrites who will deeply regret this decision.
