It occurred to me today that in life we may not ever really loose focus but we instead change our focus. With whatever we are focused on comes how we perceive our world. Perhaps our focus is on our present, our future or our past. Placing focus on any one of these means taking our focus off of the others. Peripheral vision is certainly an asset in helping us be aware of things outside our focus but it can not be counted on the way looking at something directly as the subject of ones focus does. Perhaps we are looking at the future so intently that life we are now living is passing us by and things get neglected. Maybe its our past that we are looking at most with regret or nostalgia while the future and present are where we are missing important things in our lives. It could be the here and now that have us so wrapped up that we forget the lessons of the past and the hope for our future. As human beings we have a finite ability to focus on things. If instead of letting the focus on the past, present or future be our focus. Let it be that we focus on God who is omniscient and the same yesterday, today and forever. If we focus on him then we can place it all in the hands of the Alpha and Omega with whom all things are possible. God wants the very best for each of us so perhaps its time that we stop focusing on everything else and put our attentions on simply being in his will.
