It occurs to me that we pursue conspiracy theories because we are uncomfortable with ignorance. Global conspiracies require a level of planning and access to information that humans are frankly barely able to conceive, let alone implement. Most of our ills are due to us guessing and flailing wildly around. The more important you are, the more waves your flailing causes. Most people, most of the time are just guessing. Maybe guessing well, but just guessing. Scientists are the only ones honest enough to tell you this though. How frightening is it to you that there is no vast conspiracy to globalize the economy? To demolish democracy? What are the ramifications that its just a few short sighted reactionary people causing other people around them to react in a ripple effect? What about those butterfly wings?
