It really bugs the crap out of me that everyone makes Alex out to be the least talented of the three. Sure he may not be the best drummer in the universe or the most high pitched singer who plays keys and bass too, but just think how different Rush would be if it were someone else instead of Alex... As one half of the music writing process he is one of the main reasons why Rush sounds the way they do, aside from signature vocals and the instantly recognizable drumming. And the chemistry between Geddy and Alex in the writing process. Eh. Rant over. I just would Love to see Alex get the recognition he deserves as one of the most unique and bad ass rock guitarists. If it werent for his odd style of open strings and arpeggiated chords and shimmery tones, and sustained chords while the bass changes, Rush would sound way more normal and less exciting. Thoughts?
