It really wants to make you tear your hair out. This article is just glowing with ignorance. It targets trisodium phosphate in cereals as an evil substance ready to take a bite out of our life expectancy. Why? Because it is a paint thinner. The stupidity starts right there. TSP is not a paint thinner; it can, however, be used to remove paint. Its also a great cleaner for bricks. In a concentrated solution! But thats neither here nor there. A chemical cannot be impuned just because it has different uses. After all, we drink water even though it can be used to wash garage floors and eat flour even though it can be used to make glue. Phosphorus is essential for the body, in fact it is the second most abundant element in our system. Our bones and teeth are made of a form of calcium phosphate. Almost everything we eat contains naturally occurring phosphates and any excess is readily excreted by the kidneys. People with kidney disease do have to watch their phosphate intake. The dimwitted author of this post has no idea of chemistry or physiology. Probably would sign a petition to ban ascorbic acid because it can be used as a rust remover.
