It saddens my heart that a coward group like Al-Shabab could just take human life in their state of inferiority complex mode and get some ugly attention to themselves. The perpetrators of this coward attack will be put shame by our almighty God. Kenyans have demonstrated their sense of responsiveness and patriotism for their nation. When the Kenyan Red Cross made a distress call to all Kenyans for blood donation, it was amazing that people from all walks of life turned out in their numbers to donate blood to support the injured. According to the Kenyan Red Cross “they have difficulties dealing with huge numbers in the long queues since last night and also running out of storage equipment to keep the overwhelming blood donated and still counting. The Kenyans realized their responsiveness and patriotism to their nation by coming together to help their nation in its trying moment. There is nothing like “it’s The National Alliance (TNA) party’s government problem and not Orange Democratic Movement so they will stand aside for the government of the today to carry the burden of responsibilities alone” like we Ghanaians often do. I must also say that Kenya’s presidential speech on the attack was loaded with powerful inspirations. When there is fire in your brother’s beard swiftly get some fire resistance material around you. After the 2010 World Cup Al-Shabab attack in Uganda, the Ugandan government instructed hotels, Shopping Malls and etc…. to install body scanners and this has boast confidence in their hospitality industry. We Ghanaians should take a cue from Uganda and Kenya’s attack and my advice to our government is to instruct all operators of public venues to install body scanner as a national policy to avert such attacks. May our noble Prof. Awoonor rest in peace. By: Obrempong Asare (i)
