It seems I am always working on some sort of project. The end result I envision has always acted as a motivator as I labor through the blood, sweat, and four letter vocabulary. When I finish, I stare at my work, drink a beer, find all the things I should have done different, then promise myself not to start another lengthy endeavor for several months. This usually lasts a couple of days, before Im up to my chin in dirt, sawdust, or other form of project fallout. Most of the people that know me will say it makes me happy, others will argue its a condition that can be corrected with the proper cocktail of pharmaceuticals. Which ever the case.....I write this as I take a momentary break from my current DIY nightmare. I have waged war on my garage....12 years of projects, parties, and extracurricular activities have been buried in this war zone..... and I have serious battle fatigue. The light at the end of the tunnel, I fear, has angels calling me home. This may be a cry for help, or just a way to avoid working in the pit. But a knight with a psychiatry degree on a shiny white beer truck would be a welcome sight if they could get my sorry butt out of this freakin hole!! Oh well.....done venting. Got work to do.
