It seems like only yesterday (2 and a half years ago) that this 4 piece out of Baltimore showed up at Breakers Sky Lounge on a cool winters evening to load in. I remember there were these two fake palm trees that were on the stage and I walked up to move them. BLEEEP grabs my shoulder and looks me in the eyes and says, Leave em. Theyre perfect. I knew right then that these guys were gonna be something else. I mean, who in hell wants two huge fake palm trees in the middle of their stage? Ill tell you who. A band that knows how to get down. And get down we did that night. Shortly after that, BLEEEP reached out to me and asked me to come be his stage manager at this festival that they were throwing. I said, Yea, Id love to. But to be honest, I have no idea what you are asking me to do for you. I saw how you ran your stage at Breakers man. I like your touch on wrangling the bands. You move with a sense of urgency but no one feels rushed. Thats what I need you to do for me at this festival... just, for a much longer stretch of time. That was the beginning of a whole new involvement in this scene and industry for me and I have nothing but gratitude for the opportunity afforded me then because so much has happened as a direct result. A year or so later, I found myself at The Barns of Rose Hill for one of their shows. And for those of you who didnt know, that house behind the venue is used by the bands to stay the night after the show. So this party ensued...obviously. That night I found myself having some of the deepest conversations Id had since my younger, wilder days. We talked about the world, the music, the scene, the life and how in the end, all that really matters is that you smile and love as much as you can. You showed me more than I could have possibly expected from two youthful musicians such as yourselves, BLEEEP and BLEEEPP. You set my third eye on a course that I have come to believe leads to where we all want to go. A place of peace and understanding and love that words can struggle to describe. Here we are. 2.5 years later. And you are headlining The 9:30 Club. I cannot begin to surmount an explanation of how proud and honored I am to know you that would do justice to my resolve. So I will simply say this: Jeremy Schon, Ben Carrey, Dan Schwartz and Greg Ormont Thank you for being you. Thank you for becoming Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. Thank you for giving me a shot. Thank you for being my friends. But most of all, #ThanksForTheInspiration
