It seems that now as Im getting older, I look back on my life. And I see a man who has always bucked the system. Ive always questioned authority. When someone would tell me to do something this way. I would do it the other. I know Im not alone in this, but I probably see it different than others. Back in the 60s when Viet Nam got started and through the 70s, I supported our troops and our country. I saw soldiers come back from Viet Nam and get spit on and called baby killers and whatever other attrocities the hippies could put on them and do to them. See, I believed in America. I had a bumper sticker on the back of my pickup in HS that had the Peace sign with Footprint of the American chicken on it. I wore my boots and Levis and Wranglers and hat. When I was alone in a sea of long hairs. When others were all smoking grass, I would drink beer. I waited out my time to be drafted by wanting to go to Vet School. I thought seriously about enlisting in the Marines. When all the others were protesting. I listened to Country as a child and a teenager. And listen to Classic Rock now. If there was a speed limit, I had to break it. I always kept 15 to 20 speeding tickets on my record. Minimum at all times. I was on probation for 3 to 6 months so many times. And the day I would get off probation I would get another one. Just for spite. I was 25 years afraid of what I might have to give up and fighting the Church and GOD. Though I knew it was true. Ive cowboyed, and protected the land. And watched some get all they could take from it. And leave it in need of rest. I look at America the same way I look at my church. They are both perfect. But we the members arent. GOD, I love my country! Please protect us from ourselves.
