It seems that the Village will get 100% funding due to grants based upon the engineers representation that the maximum grant given is $750,000 which is approximately $150,000 less than budget presented by the engineer to hook to Metropolitan Water. Timeline to completion mid to end of next year. One thing I believe was left out of the meeting was the deadline for the Village to sign the consent order with the County so the County can enforce compliance out of the Village to make sure the timelines set within the consent order are actually met. Please continue to go to the meetings to make sure our water continues to be a priority and that the Village complies with the consent order. The individuals that become part of the Water Committee should be provided with copies of the new engineering report, the budget, the consent order, funding options, copies of correspondence to and from the County and State Department of State and the Village along with any letters drafted by the Village attorney in response, information for the Village as to what the homeowners will be assessed, if anything, for this project and any other relevant information so the Water Committee can actually be a viable committee rather than a media band aid to prevent further negative press generated by the residents and others affected by the Village water problem.
