It seems that these safe docking systems are getting a lot of press... but The Car Seat Lady does NOT think these are the solution to preventing the thousands of head injuries every year that kids suffer from falling from shopping carts. We dont like them for the simple reason that kids are still going to be falling from shopping carts even with these products because: 1. Parents are going to forget to strap the carrier into the dock... and then the car seat is gonna fall off. Or, the strap will get all disgusting (from the drool, juice, food) and people wont use it or wont be able to tighten it. 2. Parents unbuckle their kids (or partially unbuckle - just leaving the chest clip buckled) when they are in the car seat out of the car... they should NOT be doing this, but they are... which allows the child to slide out of the seat even when the seat is attached to the dock. Wear your baby, or place the car seat IN the large part of the shopping cart - these are the 2 ways you can prevent your child from suffering a head injury while in the grocery store.
