It seems the Add the Words amendment to Idahos Declaration of Human Rights, to include protections to LGBT people, will come up for another hearing Jan. 26. Anticipating that, I encourage you to join me in calling out the bigots in the Legislature who seem to think its ok to discriminate selectively. I wrote to Nampa Rep. Brent Crane, calling him out for his notion that LGBT people would somehow be granted special rights, and that this would somehow affect the concept of traditional family, whatever the hell that means. Mr. Crane, like many of his erstwhile colleagues, and our idiot governor, seems to get confused when it comes to the notion, embodied in the Declaration of Independence, long before either the federal or state Constitutions were enacted, that all men are created equal. All means all. Not some, not people who agree with Brent Cranes notion of what constitutes a traditional family. A special thanks and tip of hat to my own District 19A Rep. Mat Erpelding for bringing this issue to light after nine years of acrimony. Now we need to persuade the bigots that their time has passed.
