It seems there are many Jesus on the internet these days. I find it interesting how much the Jesus Christ in the Bible is intermingled with the self-help psych-babble of our culture of today (which is polar opposite of scriptures teaching). Seeking that which increases self in the name of finding peace (seems very positive); yet following the Jesus Christ of the Bible is about dying to self in the name of finding peace (Jesus=Peace). In Dying to self (I decrease, He increases). A person makes a decision to be under the authority of Jesus rule and reign, in His kingdom, looking out for others as He leads. In the self promotion of todays culture (I increase, sometimes at the expense of others - because hey, thats just their own Karma)... Then a person makes a decision to personally rule and reign, in their own kingdom, looking out for self... [Its about me.... my kingdom, my world, my dreams, my betterment... ] Just because you believe something and there is power in doing it... doesnt make it LIFE GIVING... In the end, there are many things that seem good at the time, but end up not so good when looking back. Many people have decided to make up their own path, to write their own way into Jesus Kingdom of Heaven. Yet, if you are ruling and reigning, you are in your own kingdom (Nirvana)... according to all my studies, it leads to non-existence (even in the Hindu/Buddhist Nirvana). Nirvana literally means blown out, as in a candle... the light goes out. Kind of like AC/DC in the dark (theres no power in it). If you want to get into the Kingdom that someone else rules and reigns in, you need to go to that person Himself and make your request. ~ Thats just the way Kingdoms work. ~ Just saying... It is also interesting to note, that while Nirvana means the fire going out, the seal of those who believe in Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit, symbolically revealed as a Dove for Peace, or as tongues of fire on people... Like candles being lit.
