***It shall be well with him*** #Court releases Lloyd’s passport for overseas treatment# A court in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital has given an order for the release of the passport of Chidi Llyod, which had been seized by the police on his arrest, following the crisis that rocked the state House of Assembly. Justice Sobere Biambo has ordered the release of the passport on account of an application by Chidi Llyod to travel abroad for medical treatment. According to Llyod, a doctor here in Nigeria had recommended medical attention abroad for his deteriorating health condition. Llyod, who spoke through his lawyer said, “We applied to a vacation court for his passport to be released to enable him travel for medical treatment. After he was released, his doctors examined him on two different dates and issued a medical report that showed extreme urgency, and noted that the medical facilities needed for his treatment are not readily available here in our vicinity. Because of that, he needed to travel abroad. “In fact, they made a specific referral to a hospital in London where he could obtain adequate medical treatment. As you know, he cannot travel without his passport” He added. The court granted Llyod six weeks for the medical visit, after which he is expected to return to court with the medical documents. It would be recalled that Chidi Llyod had been arrested following the July 9 fracas on the floor of the Rivers State House of Assembly for alleged conspiracy, attempted murder, wounding and willful damage.
