It started a block from where my wife works at UCSB. Right where we sometimes eat lunch. Its the school where I went to day camp as a child. Got my undergraduate degree and went to grad school. My daughters soccer games are played a few blocks away. My father lived there the last. months of his life. Its where all my college friends lived. Its so normal. Its so ordinary. Its so close to home. There is always evil lurking in both the shadows and the bright sunshine of our lives.
