It started in the Summer of 2013, after an amazing 1st year for Elektriqa we put the wheels in motion to bring Newcastles first outdoor, stand alone, electronic music event! We brought to the North East (UK), the likes of Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, NERVO & John OCallaghan Official who were, & are still some of the biggest acts in the world, and put them on our huge stage in the heart of Newcastle! Over 7000 people turned up, shook the walls of the Life Centre, & left leaving with their breath well & truly taken back!... The feedback was overwhelming, with everyone asking can we do it again. The answer was yes. Yes we are doing another one in the Summer of 2015, but why not do an alternative event whilst we wait for the sun to return!? Introducing the #WinterEdition with Above & Beyond, set amongst the phenomenal & iconic Sage Gateshead building overlooking the world famous Tyne Bridge! Now as I type this we are putting together the (never been done before) Anjunabeats stage set up within the concourse of the Sage, wiring up Hall2 for Anjunadeep & filling the Northern Rock room with production ready for Module Newcastle DJs, & almost ready for the ground breaking event tonight! Its been a mind blowing year for Northern Lights & want to thank you for your relentless & loyal support, long may it continue, & look forward to seeing thousands of you bring the Sage alive tonight!
