It still is early days of this direct music to fan model and I guess we all have to try things, to work out what works and what doesnt. In times gone by, composers would take the patronage of royalty and wealthy persons and the music that was created under that umbrella. It means we still can enjoy it today. I suppose what I am saying is that those credits are a vehicle for patronage of the work. What that means in practice is a video wall instead of projection at the live show for instance.
