It took me about 18 minutes to locate and read every single scripture in the Bible pertaining to Noah. I do understand that to make a 140 minute movie about Noah and his ark you have to be allowed to take some creative liberties. Preachers have done it for years. I have always heard in sermons about how Noah was persecuted, mocked and made fun of while building the ark. I cant actually find that in the Bible. The reason I cant find it? It isnt there. So to be critical of some minor defect in a movie presentation of the same story would be pointless. Making up a detail here and there for dramatic effect is understandable and acceptable to some degree. My problem with this movie? The Tolkienization of the story. It may as well have been called The Lord of the Rings: The Great Flood of Middle Earth. Actually, if that had been the title and the hero had been an Elf and Gandalf his grandfather then it would have all made perfect sense. Im not going to tell you not to see it. I wont tell you to see it. Just know going in that it will not align very closely to the Biblical accounts of the story. Also, just to keep from having a complete curve ball thrown at you, you may want to freshen up on your knowledge of The Book of Enoch. No, you wont find The Book of Enoch in any version of the Bible you are likely to have lying around the house. It was left out of both the Catholic and the Protestant Bibles. The reason? It is really kinda out there. You know the story in the Bible about Enoch seeing a flying wheel with in a wheel and being taken up and he will reappear again at some point in time (one of the 2 witnesses in Revelations)? Like that but way freakier. Mind=Blown after reading it. If Enoch were here today he would probably have a role on Ancient Aliens or something. But, I digress. Way too sleepy to do this right.
