It took much time but Jennifer let me know that Bobs ashes are ready to be picked up in safe keeping. So his remains will be kept at the FInca until we rendezous to bring him home to the mountains. So often, I have him with me on the trails, in the canoe, and reading his marks in the books. We just ate a bunch of Linden shoots that Bob shared with me last spring on a hike in the woods on the Finca. We needed some canoe paddles so we cut down a coppiced trunk of the Tilia americana and fashioned the paddles for yesterdays trip down the Silver River (Barron of FLESG pointed out this being one of the best woods for carving). Anyways, fully sustainable harvest of the great tree that the great Carl Lineaus had his family name changed to. We made Lin chi with these buds (by putting homeade kraut over top of the linden leaf buds. So many connections….thanks Bob for being with me on the trails.------Mycol
